Gluten Free - Peanut Butter, Oat, Banana Bread
*This recipe is from www.BakerBettie.com

I apologize for the lack of posts. Life just has me busy, busy. I am trying to start an Etsy store for quilts, kindle, ipad covers and lots of other things. Seems I just forgot to post these pics.
As some of you know, my daughter is not supposed to have white flour or white sugar. So this has prompted a daily search of recipes she can have. Guten Free is just something I have to embrace for her even though its like fighting my inner being at times.
One night during my daily search I found a great site called BakerBettie.com and although I have not made a lot of things from there yet I have made this Oatmeal, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chip Banana Bread.
Most gluten free things I have made are bland or dry and I was hesitant to try this one too. However, it was delicious! I used all natural peanut butter and will probably use less chocolate chips next time, but it was moist, chocolaty and my daughter ate it! Hooray!
If you have a chance check out her site. You will be happy you did.
Trish
p.s. I promise to work on my photos so they are better
Banana Nut Bread
I make this bread a lot. It is my Grandma's recipe and my kids .. okay just 1 of them loves it. It freezes well too. Also, try adding other things to your banana bread for a change .. chocolate chips, orange zest, or anything you feel like adding. Happy baking!

Hi Everyone! I was invited to a friend's B-day party last night. She hosted a wine and painting (on canvas) party with the local company The Social Canvas. It was so much fun. However, my hand painted cake cake out better than my canvas :)
I made this cake as a surprise for my friend Jamie's b-day. Since her party was a painting party I decided her cake should indeed be hand painted as well. I made a marble cake with vanilla butter cream and since she loves dolphins and her party theme was wine I used that as my cake inspiration.

This was a quick order this week so I kept it simple. Edible image and butter cream on a red velvet cake. The Army has a budget :) If you ever have issues using edible images pop them in the freezer for 30 sec to 1 min and they peel right off so you can apply it to the cake easily. Only thing I would change here is my handwriting .. I think that will be the to do improve list.

4th of July Sugar Cookies!
Happy Independence Day!!
Another BBQ! Yes really :) tis the season to grill in the 100 degree weather. I didn't want to take cupcakes 2 weekends in a row since we were seeing the same group of friends. So instead I made brownies and sugar cookies.
I planned to decorate the cookies like fireworks but I was running out of time and in the words of my husband, "They look like a star." Well, I didn't want stars, if I did I would have used a star cutter. Instead I did really quick flags on the round cookies. They looked fine and tasted great. Maybe I'll plan better next year.
Hope you all had a safe and happy 4th of July!
